The Dying Young

I am not really sure if SK was obsessed with death. But the fact that she was so much into the music of darkness and that Ian Curtis who killed himself at the age of 24 was one of her idols might somehow point to my imagination of the writer.

The voice of the dying young is a baritone. but i recall another lost soul who died from an OD of anti-depressant at the age of 26 whose voice was like a divine angel - I could have played Nick Drake along with SK because the two might similarly be (British), tender, fragile, graceful and low. Someone died at 24 introduced the 26 to me years ago.

I am just almost blessed -- as one can imagine, if one believes in Schopenhauer's saying that dying young is a blessing whereas unborn is to be celebrated more -- i simply manage to keep a close distance with such blessing, as people whom i'd like to behold always leave too-yet-not-too-soon.

I have chosen the following tracks as the house music of the performances. They are all inspiration of SK by serving as a cross-reference to her scripts, or more generally as a ray of light for her short-yet-not-too-short life...

1. Love will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division (Ian Curtis)
2. Creep - Radiohead
3. In Arms of Sleep - Smashing Pumpkins
4. Only Love Can Save Me Now - Crystal Gayle
5. When the Music's Over - The Doors

May music be with us. (A: 我冇音樂.神呀!我希望我有音樂但係我有既只係說話. ~《渴求》)
