type='text'>National Museum of Wales 兩個月前新開設了一個當代藝術展覽場館，集中介紹威爾斯的當代藝術家。喜歡策展者不僅聚焦人，還有空間。Richard Long和 Keith Arnatt本身不是威爾斯人，卻曾經在當地進行創作，那些作品被放在場館內最重要的位置，提供另一種閱讀這個地方的方式。那堆成一個圓的石頭裝置，是Richard Owen早在預期之內的是，論看戲，在Cardiff兩星期不及只倫敦兩日。上週在Chapter有機會看到威爾斯最成功的當代編劇之一Gary Owen的作品，雖然恐怕是這次Cardiff之行唯一一次劇場經驗，卻可說是目前最應該要看的一部戲。在沒有任何背景資料的情況下進場，先見四個演員並排，各自坐在一台A字鐵梯之上，平均分配了場內四個垂直的演區。其中一人首先離開鐵梯，朝觀眾方向行前，開始他的獨白。upstage三人一直見光，卻在自己的狀態內（不過演員展現狀態的方法卻明顯不同）。獨白完結，他返回鐵梯上，另一個演員走上前，又開始她的獨白。如是者，四個人走出走入（於是我想，這種人的movement是形式，還是要強調出主題？這種形式在戲中有沒有它自己的發展？）。有時兩個人一起走出來，守在自己的世界，卻突然會有交通。說話對象的轉換令演員必需要有跳出跳入的本事。轉換說話對象的能量，</summary><link Green的編劇。關鍵詞：得獎新銳、女性、有色人種。有人把她跟Sarah Kane相題並論，去直面劇場網站你會找到她的資料。我們比較沒有那麼注意她，甚至沒有欲望想翻譯她，難免因為她寫的是黑人故事，特別是不曾被提起，關心、討論的故事，黑人女性故事。走進她的社會文化語境去看她的戲，應該是最好的方法，硬要移到香港似乎較難面對在文化翻譯過程中的隔閡。這次看的是長約一小時，在Royal Kane的劇本，當然是指定書目。再次讀著她，仍然帶給我無比的震撼。單單聽著由演員輪流讀出《Blasted》中某一場戲，那些從對白躍然而出的深邃和暴烈，真是直搗心靈！然而，帶給我新發現的，倒是在整理直面劇場的時代背景時，找到和我們當下的一些連繫。傾向官方的劇場博物館說，直面劇場的特色是具挑釁性和對抗性，既粗糙又忿怒。但是對於它所面對的社會狀況，卻著墨不多。從其他資料，我嘗試簡單歸納促使直面劇場出現的一些條件。其中，英國選民、觀眾和整體戲劇藝術在八十年代的「右的轉向」，特別抓住了我的注意力。那位戴卓爾夫人是怎樣理解劇場的呢？她認為劇場的功能是要表現英國的優秀傳統，而不是作為批判的平台。執政保守黨的整體文化政策鼓勵私人贊助，信奉市場操作，減輕政府負擔。結果是，大量小型、邊緣劇團和劇場倒閉。為了自保，</summary><link type='text'>3月台北濕漉漉。我們在布拉格書店談劇場如何反抗社會。香港朋友未必認識阿蹦老師林于竝。他在北藝大教書，專研日本戲劇。當我提到在當下消費大於一切的時代裡，連寺山修司都己經沒有殺傷力的時候（我把焦媛實驗劇團新作的宣傳單張帶過去了），劇場還可以反抗嗎？老師說，現在已經沒有外部與內部之分，而是所有人都在內部了──即是說，我們都被滲透。於是他提出，「要進入藝術的內部去思考」，而不是視藝術為社會結構的外部。很對！我們都喜歡的邱琪兒，就是做著這樣的事情。另一位講者鴻鴻，相信不用多介紹。一連做了一百零五場幾米音樂劇之後，回到小劇場，推出一個以戲劇史為主題的節目。他說，即便十二場的門票全部賣光，他還是要虧本到出血。學懂制度然後在其中找到反抗的出口，是他現在想要做的事情。阿蹦老師最後說，文化所指的可能就是在體制裡容許反體制的自由度。也對，不過我們還得小心霸權這隻獸也是以同樣的「美好」面目來操作體制。也談到「</summary><link type='text'>每當看到這一種「不合法」的「勾當」，心裏就異常興奮。興奮來自於一種反叛吧，說不定也源於一份苦悶與焦慮。讀着台灣新世代編劇周曼農的劇本集《高熱103°》。她說：「有時候必須允許一種不合法的劇本寫作，允許不在已知範圍內的劇場想像。即使它不能也不準備在此時此刻的現實中被實踐，但是它可以藉着被閱讀傳達想法、召喚其他人的想像，甚而成為另一種形式的實踐。」這裏提出了兩個探索的方向。一是以新書寫衝破劇本創作秩序，二是在劇場裏實踐這種書寫。劇作者好像對於後者沒有非常確定，於是繼而提出這種書寫單純「被閱讀」的可能和價值。對於這位畢業於北藝大劇本創作碩士班的劇作者來說，劇本可以被演出，也可以被閱讀。我一直很好奇的是，這兩者之間到底是一種分工合作，還是一種無可避免地繃緊的角力？（而於是這種角力就成為探索與實驗的起點。）很久以前說過一些無聊話，甚麼「文字是丁力，劇場是許文強」。面對周曼農的思考，</summary><link type='text'>我都算是觀劇狂迷。十月的時候，老遠飛到台北，只為看一個名為「聲音劇場」的讀劇演出。不過後來當地朋友更正我說，「聲音劇場」與讀劇是不同的，所以我要修正：我去看了「聲音劇場」。場刊這樣寫：聲音劇場是建立在讀劇的基礎上，精鍊文本的表現，同時去除過多花俏的表演形式，讓觀眾直接感受聲音傳達的力道與撞擊。方式是「純粹的」，期望「藉由重拾對聽覺的重視，回歸劇場文本的關注」。因為強調文本語言，所以以「聽」作為欣賞方法。但總不能入座後乾脆閉上眼睛吧！而結果我看到的兩齣戲都沒有發出這樣的邀請。《窗明几淨》出自一個七十後美國編劇的手筆。一個外地傭工在紐約大城市打工的故事。我聽到的是一個不時出現一句兩句睿智對白的劇本，睿智得……你可以隨便把那些對白抽出來變成很吸引人的宣傳標語。能夠看看美國的新劇本倒是暢快的，但這樣的「聲音劇場」卻叫人難以滿足：在僅一個講台式的空間裏做足 Emin，從本土藝術學院走向國際舞台繼而踏上藝術拍賣場。在英國搞當代視覺藝術的年青人頓時成為天之驕子，連當時在英國讀書的香港土產藝術家張韻雯Amy Cheung，都曾經在如雨後春筍的YBA展覽中登場。在劇場界，九十年代的英國也發生了類此的情況。在九十年代中發表第一個劇本的六十後英國劇作家Mark Wall》及2005年《Fewer Emergencies》，被奉為這位年過五十的英國劇作家最具代表性的戲劇實驗。有論者曾經指英國當代戲劇的軸心上，David Hare站在政治劇的一頭，跟他遙遙相對的，就是以形式先行的Martin Crimp。亦有人認為，Crimp更普遍地被推祟為一個優秀的經典戲劇改編者和翻譯者，為莫里哀、尤里斯高和契訶夫的作品注入了現代觸覺。新作《The Life》(1997)劇本買回來，是因為讀了Graham Saunders寫Sarah Kane的《Love me or kill me: Sarah Kane and the theatre of extremes》(2002)。在分析《4.48 Psychosis》(1999)那一個章節，開首節錄了《Attempts on Her Borremans是比利時一位當代畫家。他的油畫色調低沉，描繪人物輪廓和身體動作的筆觸直接而細緻，流露強烈的懷舊氣氛之餘，還有一種寫實的格調。這是他的作品予人的第一印象。但細看之下，驚喜就在畫中人的雙手或凝視之下出現了；畫中人所望著的東西，或其身體姿態所指向著的某種工作或活動，跟畫中人的寫實風格正正相反──他們眼前的究竟是甚麼物件，他們正在做甚麼？畫家刻意把它留白，甚至進行干擾。例如在《The Table》 (2001)，見兩個女人在某室內望著一個奶白色、富質感的平面，畫家對兩個女人的描繪極其寫實，她們看著平面，若有所思，而且還穿著類似工作服的衣飾，圍繞著這種具象筆觸的是一種敘事，可是當人物與那些無以名狀的物件和空間聯繫起來的時候，那種敘事旋即跌入了一種超現實的想像之中。畫中人究竟身處什麼地方，正在完成怎麼樣的工作，那片平面真是一張桌子嗎？不同的可能性被打開了，</summary><link Vests》（1997）是一個針對年青人而寫成的教育劇場作品，探討暴力和戰爭對人性所帶來的災難性後果。共七場戲要說的是一個學生在成長中的兩個片段：先是他在學校被校長和同學指責破壞公物和別人的衣服，然後鏡頭一轉，他正接受軍事訓練，繼而在戰場上狠狠向殺死他同僚的投降士兵報復。有趣的是，這兩個部份的排列純粹是一種敘述上的次序，從學生這個角色的轉向來看，這兩部份更像一種倒序──接受訓練時，學生不敢刺向假人，最後要靠發出瘋狂而原始的叫喊來將自己麻木於暴行之中，這跟在第一個片段時的他形成了強烈對比：學生在校門外拿出小刀刺向校長，不由分說，反而更冷靜和自如。劇本沒有交待這兩部份之間的因果關係，卻正因而對於教育制度、成人世界對孩子的權力操控和教化等問題作出鞭撻，更將之與戰爭暴行相提並論。雞先定蛋先？</summary><link type='text'>1.一年前的2月15日，村上春樹在反對聲中出席了以色列的耶路撒冷文學獎頒獎禮，發表了他後來被廣泛談論的得獎演說──「在高牆和雞蛋之間，我永遠站在雞蛋那一邊。」那十五分鐘的演講是作家的良心，是對當時以色列空襲加沙的軍事行動所作出的近距離攻擊。就在同一時間，2月6至21日，一齣名為《Seven Jewish Children: a play for Gaza》的戲碼在倫敦Royal Court Theatre上演。演出安排在每晚的正場，Marius von Mayenburg的新戲《The Stone》之後，免費入場。演出是臨時加插的。劇作家Caryl Churchill用了一個星期完成這十分鐘的文本；接下來的一星期，她到Royal Court叩門，希望得到支持，安排演期；然後，Royal fruits。可是，目睹一家又一家小店無聲無色地消失是痛苦的；而目睹小店向偉大市場揮手然後點頭擴充成「大店」，也是令人無可奈何的。上星期，銅鑼灣道的「快樂廚房」結業了。這家標榜死都唔落（味精）的家庭式食店由一對夫婦主理。聽說老闆在行內薄有名氣，我便見過Town Gas的小冊子找他做testimonial，並簡介他為私房菜老闆。從天后銀幕街搬到銅鑼灣道的初期，老闆娘向食客送贈精美印刷的健康食譜，廚師和食客的關係並不止於交易一宗。結業前的一陣子，他們在店前放了一個醒神易拉架，好像想盡人事做一點宣傳攻勢。街坊如我在不知不覺間就把架上的口號背下來了：唯有用心，美味成真。</summary><link rel='replies' type='text'>宮部美幸讀宮部美幸，我是由《龍眠》開始的。剛讀完她很早期的短篇《鄰人的犯罪》，因為短小精悍（對比《模仿犯》內一共有43個人物），那種推理小說的味道彷彿是說故事的方法、所營造的氣氛，而非故事的｢大橋｣來烹調的。這些短篇，故事其實很「簡單」，沒有幻海奇情的佈局，沒有血肉模糊的罪行；尋常百姓家裡最普通不過的經驗──例如因為鄰家養的狗很嘈於是萌生綁架狗的念頭！──泛起點點謎樣，透過作者尖銳的想像力化成不一樣的｢推理｣故事。導讀中引述這位「日本國民作家」有這麼一句：「對我來說，做一件工作，一定要用流汗用力，才算是工作。」用力寫作，寫到流汗，真是一種福氣！高行健J真幸運，歐遊也不忙做訪問，對象還要是高行健。讀到他以下這麼說，也覺得自己有一種不錯的福氣──「在經濟上獨立以外，再來做藝術，這才是真正的自由，才不會受到市場的牽制；真正出於熱心來做，才會做出好東西，才能繼續下去。」做出好東西，繼續下去，</summary><link type='text'>為「雙妹嘜舞蹈劇場」編輯十周年圖文集，是一次令人死去活來的經驗。死因是過程艱苦、力有不逮、時間緊迫、通宵達旦；再生則因身旁有充滿正能量的*三K男*──設計師拍檔kim和不嫌我蠢的出版兼客串顧問kongkee，當然還有在百忙中仍願意抽空被我舞來舞去的雙妹舞者。最為水深火熱的期間，剛好踫上復活節悠長假期，鞭策我一邊怒做，一邊追逐著那種誓要絕處逢生的盼望。前趁排版正式開始前，和kim去看Chanel Mobile Art。據聞在我訂票後數日，展期所有booking都爆滿了！我倆陷入排書不歸路之前的這客appetizer，最極品的莫過於展覽中那支從英文原文翻譯並演繹的廣東話錄音tour guide，聽得人哭笑不得。畢明在專欄中說如果control freak Karl type='text'>12月，跟九龍醫院的朋友一起做的視覺詩進行展覽了。這次工作坊的內容比較複雜，就像烹調食物一樣，要把每個小步驟逐一完成，也可以看見完整的成品。這樣，在過程中其實很難讓參與者去想像結果，於是他們有時候會更加失去信心，不敢投入。不過，堅持到底的成果，是令每個人都感到自豪和滿足的！貼上展覽中的導師感言以記之：******第一次遇上「 shape poem」，是聽到蘇格蘭著名詩人 Ian Hamilton Finlay逝世的消息之後，找來他的作品一看。利用這種詩作的形式把玩文字和視覺設計，又不獨詩人專美，很多幼兒及小學教育的課堂裡，也有利用「 shape poem」來激發兒童的創意。可以看出，這種創作形式的彈性很高，可以很深奧，也可以很顯淺，六歲至六十歲的大小朋友都可以創作屬於自己的詩，勾勒出令他∕她鐘情的形狀和圖案。但無論是誰去做，「 shape type='text'>再看《Blasted》</title><summary type='text'>倫敦春季，某劇團將會上演SK首個作品《Blasted》並且在英國巡迴。這個版本的特色，是在演員表演的同時，布幕會投映現場另一個手語版本，以他們的設計原意去表達，投映中的人是一個「一直存在的不知名的角色」(an unknown character always there)。從劇照看上去，那是活脫脫的一副「多媒體劇場」模樣，實情是，這個Graeae Theatre，其實是一個推廣展能藝術的劇團，由／為身體及感官功能有殘障的人士創作戲劇；手語演出的投映，是功能性的「需要」，也是Graeae美學的一部份。而《Blasted》兩名導演是視障的，劇本裡所有stage type='text'>5月，歪斜了。我的馬達、我的思路、我的頸背椎、我的把持、我的相信、我的視線……。歪了，雖未至於倒下。如果有一種情緒的拔罐，那怕會在我背上留下一個又一個紅腫起來的半球體，我也敢試，起碼可以更準確地偵測出自己是在哪裡出了錯。差不多整個5月都沒有來這裡澆水。心之旱災，原來（幸而）靠著寫作得以灌救。沒有寫blog的日子，我寫了一個劇本。一口氣寫完以後，我很驚訝自己能夠把它寫完。《不幸的狀況》。與我一起經歷歪斜
